2010 年7 月31 日这一天，亚庇篮总在亚庇建国中学举行盛大的「亚庇篮总创会52 周年庆典晚宴」，这是新任主席冯春发上任后的第一炮，也是篮总相隔十四年后再度举办周年庆典，（篮总曾在1994 年欢庆卅六周年），摆开了八十筵席，盛邀华社领袖、篮坛人仕一起出席，共襄盛举。。

在会上，原订邀请州副首席部长兼青年及体育部长拿督彭恩荣亲临主持开幕，但临时有事未克出席，乃由州地政及房屋部助理部长拿督杨爱华代为主持。
「亚庇篮总创会52 周年庆典」主要分成两大项目，一是当晚的盛宴，荟萃多名篮坛前辈，借以各界人仕欢聚一堂，其二是发行特刊，记录过去篮总所“ 失落” 的资料，回首过去也面对未来！
逾八百人出席五十二周年庆晚宴
亚庇篮总趁着这项庆典，透过三种方式募款，即剪彩、购买餐券或刊登特刊广告，希望筹募更多款项，以便该会日后推动篮运发展所需。
在“731” 晚宴上的仪式及节目，计有众嘉宾联合剪彩、主礼嘉宾拿督杨爱华致词、亚庇篮总主席冯春发致词、“ 亚庇飞鹰” 吉祥物推展礼、颁纪念品予前任主席、颁发贡献奖、主礼嘉宾与众领袖们切蛋糕主礼嘉宾与众领袖们切蛋糕。
自从年初开始筹备这项庆典晚宴，，就陆续获得热心篮运人士加入赞助行列，众人将促使晚会变得深具意义、分外光彩。
亚庇篮总向来获得社会大众的支持，而身在幕后的一班名誉顾问等，也非常关心球会发展动向，因而踊跃响应这次的庆典。
On July 31, 2010, the Kota Kinabalu Basketball Association (KKBA) held a grand “52nd Anniversary Celebration Gala Dinner” at Kian Kok Middle School. This event marked the first major initiative under the leadership of the newly appointed Chairman, Fung Chun Fatt. It was also the first anniversary celebration held by the association in 14 years (the previous milestone being the 36th anniversary in 1994). The gala featured an 80-table banquet, inviting leaders of the Chinese community and figures from the basketball world to join the momentous occasion.
The event was originally scheduled to be officiated by the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Peter Pang En Yin. Due to last-minute commitments, he was represented by the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah.
The “KKBA 52nd Anniversary Celebration” comprised two main highlights:
The Gala Dinner: A gathering of numerous basketball veterans and members of the public to foster community ties.
The Anniversary Magazine: A commemorative publication documenting “lost” historical data of the association—honoring the past while looking toward the future.
To support the future development of basketball in the region, KKBA utilized the celebration to raise funds through ribbon-cutting sponsorships, dinner ticket sales, and advertisements in the commemorative magazine.
The itinerary for the “July 31” gala included:
A joint ribbon-cutting ceremony by distinguished guests.
Speeches by Guest of Honor Datuk Edward Yong and KKBA Chairman Fung Chun Fatt.
The launch ceremony of the “KK Eagles” mascot.
Presentation of souvenirs to former Chairmen and the “Contribution Awards.”
出席剪彩包括了沙巴中华大会堂总会长拿督陈友仁、大马篮总秘书长沉新兴、里卡士区州议员拿督刘德泉、路阳区州议员谢秋菊、沙巴篮总会长张经强、篮总顾问卓权兴、永久名誉主席拿督吴添泉、永久名誉主席黄有联、永久名誉顾问拿督曹德安、前任主席邓松青、前任主席拿督陈瑞孚、前任主席林社安、亚庇华小校长协会主席拿督黄天良、亚庇市政厅总监拿督杨文海、名誉顾问拿督丁永超博士、名誉顾问吴华山、名誉顾问吴源瑞、名誉顾问潘志勇、名誉顾问潘志远、名誉顾问李宜聪、名誉顾问黄国绳、名誉顾问陈俊杰、沙巴篮总副主席廖亿明、陈智琦、黄海明（黄炳义代表）、林文灿、吴宪盛、玄音子师姐、李福炎、李泰成、郑其雄、张剑华夫人、李宏武、林荣辉、谢富业和李伟业等人。
剪彩仪式完毕后，主礼嘉宾拿督杨爱华和亚庇篮总主席冯春发也上台轮流致词，较后就由拿督杨爱华亲自揭幕，把“ 吉祥物” 公开示人，这也是亚庇篮总史上第一个吉祥物– 亚庇飞鹰。
据悉，” 亚庇飞鹰” 吉祥物象征亚庇篮总翱翔冲出云霄﹐飞向更遥远目标的精神。杨爱华在理事们陪同下掀开幕帘时﹐赫然呈现一头雄爪篮球的可爱飞鹰。
亚庇篮总期盼飞鹰吉祥物的亲切与友善形象﹐继续与各界保持最亲密的友谊和联系﹐以真诚与热心来实现推动篮的理想。而吉祥物的推展﹐不仅是亚庇篮总的里程碑﹐更是朝向商业化篮运发展的起步。
在晚宴上，亚庇篮总也派发出“ 吉祥物” 锁匙圈予在场的出席们，作为当晚最珍贵的纪念物品。
七位前任主席获颁纪念品
接着下来，亚庇篮总在周年晚宴特别赠送纪念品予前任主席﹐亲自出席领取纪念品的七位前任主席包括邓松青(1965-68) ﹑拿督陈瑞孚(1969) ﹑卓权兴(1980-86) ﹑苏仕汉(1992) ﹑黄有联(1993-2002 ﹐ 2007-08) ﹑拿督吴添泉(2003-06) ﹑林社安(2007)。
在这五十二年以来，亚庇篮总经历了十五位主席，包括了首届主席卓明道、第二任主席吴国霖和第五任主席陈玉发已经离开了大家，也曾有两位代主席，任期最久是第十一任主席黄有联，长达十二年，从一九九三年直至二零零二年，二零零七年归来再任多一届。
亚庇篮总主席冯春发亲自把纪念品交予他们手中，也借这个机会希望能够表扬这些前任主席虽己卸任，但功不可没，他们皆在不同时期作出了不可磨灭的功绩及贡献。
紧接着，亚庇篮总主席冯春发颁给予“ 亚庇篮总贡献奖” 予十一位对篮总有功人士，分别为郑秀凤博士﹑林雪虹﹑苏仕强﹑温永恒﹑汤咏竤﹑赵顺发﹑符诗妮﹑陈德坤﹑赫柏利加达﹑陈明彦及陈保新。
特设” 贡献奖” 表扬近十年来曾为该会作出无私贡献及付出的现任理事﹑教练﹑裁判及理员﹐多年来对篮总不离不弃﹐与篮总风雨同路。
由陈伟莹担任司仪，当天晚上的余兴节目乃由亚庇建国中学所呈献，让出席者们留下了深刻的印象。
Preparation for the event began early in the year and received overwhelming support from basketball enthusiasts and honorary advisors. Notable attendees included:Datuk Seri Panglima Sali Tan (President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah), Sim Sin Heng (Secretary-General of MABA), Datuk Edward Khoo (ADUN for Likas), Melaine Chia (ADUN for Luyang)…and various other prominent community leaders and honorary advisors.
Following the speeches, Datuk Edward Yong officially unveiled the first mascot in the history of the KKBA: the KK Eagle.
The “KK Eagle” symbolizes the spirit of the KKBA—soaring above the clouds and striving toward distant goals. The mascot, depicted as a friendly eagle clutching a basketball, aims to represent the sincerity and passion of the association in promoting the sport. Its introduction marks a milestone for KKBA as it moves toward a more professional and commercialized era of basketball development. Guests were also gifted “KK Eagle” keychains as a memento of the evening.
Honoring Seven Former Chairmen
A special segment of the evening was dedicated to honoring the leadership that guided the association over the past five decades. Since its founding, KKBA has been led by 15 Chairmen. The seven former Chairmen who attended to receive their awards were:Mr. Teng Song Chen(1965-68),Datuk Tan Sui Fu(1969), Vincent Chok(1980-86), Mr. Su Shu Han(1992), Wong Yu Len(1993-2002, 2007-08 the longest-serving Chairman), Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan and Mr. Lim Sheh Onn(2007)
Chairman Fung Chun Fatt personally presented the souvenirs, emphasizing that while these leaders have stepped down, their contributions remain an indelible part of the association’s history.
Finally, Chairman Fung presented the “KKBA Contribution Award” to 11 individuals—including coaches, referees, and committee members—who have shown selfless dedication to the association over the past decade. These recipients were honored for their unwavering loyalty and for standing by the association through all challenges.
The evening, hosted by Tan Wai Ying, featured vibrant performances by students from Kian Kok Middle School, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
