Whenever hosting state or international tournaments, the Association typically publishes a Souvenir Magazine. This serves as a primary means to raise funds from businesses and basketball enthusiasts. Distributed to participating clubs and players during or after the competition, this “traditional” method remains relevant today. More importantly, these publications preserve invaluable data, serving as indispensable references for reviewing the history of the club and past events. Below, we introduce a collection of souvenir magazines gathered through great effort, inviting everyone to take a trip down memory lane.

As it has become increasingly rare to see souvenir magazines published for state-level competitions in recent years, these vintage copies have become even more precious. Over the past half-century, the magazines published by the Kota Kinabalu Basketball Association (KKBA) have generally fallen into three categories:International or National Championships,State Championships and Commemorative Anniversary Issues.

Compiling a souvenir magazine is a tedious and demanding task. KKBA wishes to pay its highest respects to the predecessors who contributed to these works. Without your hard work and dedication, the history of basketball in Kota Kinabalu could not have been documented so authentically. To the pioneers of these publications, we share this sentiment from a past commemorative issue: “To record this grand occasion, to pass it down forever, and to serve as a lasting memento.”
