在30年前(1994年)，当时由黄有联担任主席的初期，落实了与义利贸易有限公司长期合作，赞助亚庇区16 岁以下选拔赛，而今它已是亚庇篮总历史最悠久，亦是最长久的体育合—作伙伴，在篮坛上写下了不可磨灭的辉煌记录。
在幕后促成这段佳话就是该公司负责人吴源瑞，当时就以Spritzer 矿泉水来命名，球赛的中文译名曾是益康杯，后来被叫着必胜杯而沿用直今。
无可否认的是，Spritzer 杯亚庇16 岁以下选拔赛，是目前亚庇篮总的最大成就之一，尤其获得私人赞助商如此长期资助一项赛会，在州内是鲜少的成功例子，不仅是球会与赞助商可以促成精明伙伴的见证，而更是长期培育亚庇球员的重要基地。
其实早在1992 年3 月间，亚庇篮总为了配合全州16 岁以下少年赛的推行，也正式开办了本身的选拔赛，在经过两届之后，就终于找到了义利公司的赞助下，逐而减轻了篮总承办比赛的经费负担。
Spritzer 杯主要是亚庇篮总作为选拔16 岁以下县级代表球员的战场，每年平均吸引了至少十余支队伍参与其盛，而大部份是学校派队参与其盛，庇区两大独中（崇正和建国）与亚庇中学曾在这项赛会写下辉煌的战绩。
自10 年前开始，亚庇开始在全州16 岁以下赛会大展雄厚的势力，无可否认的，这乃是透过Spritzer 杯成功培育杰出球员，为亚庇队打下坚厚的基础。
“Spritzer 杯” 是与众不同的，凡是观赏过这项赛事的人都知道，每逢决赛当天，就仿如一个嘉年华，除了男子组决赛的压轴高潮之外，也有举办灌篮，花式运球，三分球及亲子游戏等，这十多年来已逐渐成为了传统，有很多优秀球员在会上展示了精湛的球技，其名字将永远记入史册中。
时至今日，Spritzer 杯篮赛已是亚庇区年轻人无所不晓的重要赛事，也让赞助商继续协助亚庇篮总开拓未来。
随着大马篮总于2013 年修改分龄赛制，全国及全州赛皆由16 岁以下改为15 岁以下，因此Spritzer 杯也顺应改为15 岁以下，也在这一年，必胜杯欢庆廿周年，Spritzer 有限公司董事主席拿督林国璋局绅也首次特地前来观礼。
其实，Spritzer 杯在1996 年和1997 年亦主办过15 岁以下的组别，当时是由崇正中学称霸15 岁以下组，不过后来只专注在16 岁以下组别而己。
在早期的Spritzer 杯，崇正中学在男子组呼风唤雨，曾夺过8 届冠军归，直至近年来才出现了亚庇中学和乐育中学争霸的局面。
反观女子组中，崇正中学女将们一技独秀，曾经拿下了四连冠。
Thirty years ago (1994), during the early years of Mr. Wong Yu Len’s chairmanship, a long-term partnership was established with Yee Lee Trading Co. Sdn Bhd to sponsor the Kota Kinabalu Under-16 (U16) Selection Tournament. Today, it stands as the oldest tournament in the history of the KKBA and the longest-running sports partnership in the region, leaving an indelible mark of excellence on the basketball scene.
The person behind this legendary collaboration is the company’s head, Mr. Goh Mung Chwee. The tournament was named after Spritzer mineral water; its Chinese name was originally translated as the “Yik Hong Cup” before evolving into the “Bi Sheng Cup”, a title it still carries today.
Undeniably, the Spritzer Cup is one of the KKBA’s crowning achievements. Securing such long-term private sector funding is a rare success story within the state. It serves not only as a testament to the “smart partnership” between a sports association and a sponsor but also as a vital breeding ground for cultivating local talent.
While the KKBA officially launched its own selection trials in March 1992 to align with the State U16 Championships, it was after the first two editions that Yee Lee Trading stepped in as a sponsor, significantly easing the financial burden of organizing the event.
The Spritzer Cup is the primary arena where the KKBA scouts for its U16 district representatives. Each year, it attracts an average of over ten teams, mostly from local schools. The two major independent high schools (Tshung Tsin and Kian Kok) along with KK High School have consistently recorded brilliant results in this competition.
Over the past decade, Kota Kinabalu has demonstrated overwhelming dominance in the State U16 Championships. This success is undeniably rooted in the Spritzer Cup, which has successfully nurtured outstanding players and built a solid foundation for the KK district teams.
More Than Just a Tournament
The “Spritzer Cup” is unique. Anyone who has attended knows that the day of the finals feels like a carnival. Beyond the high-stakes climax of the boys’ final, the event features slam dunk contests, freestyle dribbling, three-point shootouts, and family-friendly games. This has become a cherished tradition over the last few decades, where elite players showcase their skills and etch their names into the annals of local basketball history.
Today, the Spritzer Cup is a household name among the youth of Kota Kinabalu, allowing the sponsors to continue supporting the KKBA in pioneering the future of the sport.
Adapting to New Standards
Following the 2013 revision of age-group categories by the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA), national and state competitions shifted from U16 to Under-15 (U15). The Spritzer Cup adapted accordingly. That same year marked the tournament’s 20th anniversary, an occasion graced for the first time by the Executive Chairman of Spritzer Berhad, Datuk Lim Kok Cheong JP.
Historically, the Spritzer Cup did host U15 categories in 1996 and 1997—both won by Tshung Tsin Secondary School—before focusing solely on the U16 bracket for a period.
Boys’ Division: In the early years, Tshung Tsin Secondary School was the dominant force, claiming eight championship titles. In more recent years, the landscape has shifted into a rivalry between KK High School and Lok Yuk Secondary School.
Girls’ Division: Tshung Tsin Secondary School has remained unrivaled, notably achieving an impressive four-consecutive-year championship streak.

亚庇篮总在当晚亚庇民众会堂举行的隆重的开幕礼，邀请得本州副首席部长拿督于墨斋医生担任主宾，在场观礼的有Spritzer 杯大会顾问吴源瑞，沙巴篮总会长潘志勇，前任亚庇篮总主席黄有联、顾问、以及多位赞助人等。
亚庇篮总主席冯春发致词时感谢拿督林国璋廿年来慷慨赞助，俾使亚庇篮总取得今天的成就。
他也感谢Spritzer 杯大会顾问吴源瑞积极响应，以及黄有联等人积极推动、以及媒体多年来的协助、造就了亚庇历史上最悠久的赛事、也令Spritzer 杯成为全州家喻户晓的赛事。

Spritzer Cup 20th Anniversary Celebration
“Two Decades of Connection, Leaping into the Future Together!”
On April 15, 2013, Datuk Lim Kok Cheong JP, President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and Executive Chairman of Spritzer Berhad, attended the opening ceremony of the “20th Spritzer Cup: Kota Kinabalu Under-15 Youth Basketball Championship,” witnessing a historic milestone in the tournament’s legacy.
The grand opening ceremony, held at the Kota Kinabalu Community Hall, featured the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai, as the guest of honor. Other distinguished guests in attendance included Spritzer Cup Consultant Ng Yen Swee, Sabah Basketball Association President Phan Chee Yong, former KKBA Chairman Wong Yu Len, various advisors, and several tournament sponsors.
In his speech, KKBA Chairman Fung Chun Fatt expressed his profound gratitude to Datuk Lim Kok Cheong for his generous sponsorship over the past twenty years, which has been instrumental in the KKBA’s current success.
He also extended his thanks to Goh Mung Chwee for his proactive coordination, to Wong Yu Len and others for their dedicated promotion of the sport, and to the media for their years of support. Together, these efforts have made the Spritzer Cup the longest-running tournament in Kota Kinabalu’s history and a household name across the state.
Fung highlighted the direct correlation between the tournament and the success of local athletes:
“The Spritzer Cup’s contribution to Under-16 basketball has enabled the Kota Kinabalu team to claim nine championships in the state-level tournament over the past ten years. It is clear that the achievements of our youth squads are inextricably linked to the Spritzer Cup.”
Spritzer 杯 30 周年庆典
迈入2025年，SPRITZER杯迎来了第30年，亚庇篮总也安排8月30日国庆日这一天举行了一项盛大的开幕典礼，邀请了亚庇区国会议员YB拿督陈泓缣亲临主持开幕。
亚庇篮总主席冯春发在欢迎词中回顾了SPRITZER杯的发展历程，特别点名两位功臣。其一是前任亚庇篮总主席黄有联先生，他在1993年成功推动SPRITZER冠名赞助，从此赛事得以连续举办并培养出无数优秀球员。其二是义利有限公司顾问吴源瑞先生，他被称为 “SPRITZER杯的总策划师”，在赛事创立过程中居功至伟，并三十年来几乎场场不缺席。
冯春发指出，三十届、三十一年的坚持绝非易事。赞助商的支持不仅仅是资金投入，更是一份对青少年运动的承诺。 SPRITZER杯见证了无数青少年从稚嫩成长为成熟健儿，有些更代表亚庇、沙巴乃至马来西亚走上更高层次的赛场。 ”

30th Anniversary
As we enter 2025, the SPRITZER Cup celebrates its landmark 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Kota Kinabalu Basketball Association (KKBA) organized a grand opening ceremony on August 30—National Day—with the Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu, YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, officiating the event.
In his welcoming address, KKBA Chairman Fung Chun Fatt reflected on the history of the SPRITZER Cup, giving special recognition to two key figures. The first was former KKBA Chairman Mr. Wong Yu Len, who successfully secured Spritzer’s title sponsorship in 1993, enabling the tournament to run consecutively for decades and nurture countless elite players. The second was Mr. Goh Mung Chwee, Consultant for Yee Lee Trading Co. Sdn Bhd. Described as the “Master Planner of the SPRITZER Cup,” Mr. Goh played a pivotal role in the founding of the tournament and has attended nearly every single match over the past thirty years.
Chairman Fung noted that maintaining a tournament for 30 editions over 31 years is no small feat:
“The support from our sponsor is more than just a financial investment; it is a commitment to youth sports. The SPRITZER Cup has witnessed countless teenagers grow from fledgling players into mature athletes, with some going on to represent Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and even Malaysia on higher-level stages.”
The ceremony was also attended by Datuk Seri Lim Kok Cheong JP, Executive Chairman of Spritzer Berhad, and Mr. Wong Yu Len, Permanent Honorary Chairman of the KKBA, among other distinguished guests.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary, a special commemorative initiative titled “Two Generations on the Court” was held. This program recognized parents who previously competed in the SPRITZER Cup and whose children are participating in this year’s edition.
Following a registration process, seven families (four father-son pairs, two mother-son pairs, and one father with two children) were selected:
