\u4f9d\u636e\u6240\u83b7\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u8d44\u6599\u663e\u793a\uff0c\u6c99\u5df4\u5dde\u5185\u6709\u8bb0\u5f55\u7684\u6700\u65e9\u671f\u5168\u5dde\u6027\u7bee\u7403\u8d5b\u4e8b\uff0c\u5373\u662f\u201c \u8d3a\u6069\u676f\u201d(HoneCup)\uff0c\u5728\u4e94\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u521d\u5f00\u59cb\u4e3e\u884c\u3002<\/strong><\/p>

\u201c\u8d3a\u6069\u676f\u201d \u4e43\u4ee5\u5317\u5a46\u7f57\u6d32\u524d\u603b\u7763\u8d6b\u67cf\u8d3a\u6069\u7235\u58eb(Sir Herbert Ralph Hone) \u6240\u547d\u540d\uff0c\u4ed6\u662f\u4ece1950 \u5e74\u62c5\u4efb\u603b\u7763\u81f31954\u5e74\u4e3a\u6b62\u3002<\/p>

\u5f53\u65f6\u6c99\u5df4\uff08\u5317\u5a46\u7f57\u6d32\uff09\u4ecd\u662f\u82f1\u6b96\u6c11\u5730\uff0c\u7531\u82f1\u653f\u5e9c\u4e3e\u529e\u5404\u7c7b\u7403\u8d5b\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5c31\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u7bee\u7403\u6bd4\u8d5b\uff0c\u5f53\u5e74\u5dde\u5185\u867d\u6709\u4e09\u4e2a\u6d77\u6e2f\u533a\uff0c\u4f46\u53ea\u6709\u897f\u6d77\u5cb8\u65f3\u4e9a\u5e87\u961f\u4e0e\u4e1c\u6d77\u5cb8\u7684\u5c71\u6253\u6839\uff0c\u624d\u53ef\u53c2\u4e0e\u8d3a\u6069\u676f\u7bee\u7403\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u518d\u52a0\u4e0a\u5f53\u65f6\u4e5f\u53ea\u6709\u5e87\u6839\u4e24\u5730\u7684\u7bee\u7403\u6c34\u51c6\u8f83\u9ad8\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6bcf\u5e74\u7531\u4e9a\u5e87\u4e0e\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u8f6e\u6d41\u4e3b\u529e\u3002<\/p>

\u5728\u65e9\u671f\uff0c\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u5411\u6765\u90fd\u79f0\u9738\u7bee\u575b\uff0c\u4e9a\u5e87\u961f\u540e\u6765\u9010\u6e10\u624d\u8d76\u4e0a\uff0c\u81f3\u4e8e\u6597\u6e56\u961f\uff0c\u5219\u83b7\u5f97\u5f53\u5730\u6821\u53cb\u7ec4\u7ec7\u8d77\u6765\u7684\u53bf\u961f\u4e5f\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u540e\u6765\u7684\u52b2\u65c5\u3002<\/p>

\u5728\u4e94\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u4e2d\u671f\uff0c\u51fa\u5f81\u8d3a\u6069\u676f\u7684\u4e9a\u5e87\u4e3b\u5c06\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u8c22\u8000\u5c71\u3001\u9093\u677e\u9752\u3001\u9648\u6c9b\u6b66\u3001\u6768\u5b54\u7ae0\u3001\u6797\u5fd7\u6210\u3001\u6f58\u5584\u80b2\u53ca\u66fe\u5e86\u5149\u7b49\u4eba\uff0c\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u7684\u540d\u5c06\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u8d56\u91d1\u6765\u53ca\u5434\u7956\u6797\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u66fe\u8054\u5408\u4ee3\u8868\u6c99\u5df4\u961f\u53c2\u52a0\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u7684\u6570\u573a\u53cb\u8c0a\u8d5b\u3002<\/p>

\u9664\u4e86\u5dde\u5185\u8d5b\u4e8b\uff0c\u5317\u5a46\u7f57\u6d32\uff08\u6c99\u5df4\uff09\u961f\u4e5f\u6709\u53c2\u52a0\u4e09\u90a6\u91d1\u676f\u8d5b\uff0c\u7531\u9648\u6c9b\u6b66\u3001\u4e18\u4f1f\u57fa\u3001\u53f6\u51ac\u6210\u53ca\u6768\u660c\u5357\u7b49\u4eba\u4ee3\u8868\u8fdc\u8d74\u53e4\u664b\u53c2\u8d5b\uff0c\u4e9a\u5e87\u4e5f\u57281961 \u5e74\u63a5\u529e\u4e86\u4e09\u90a6\u91d1\u676f\u8d5b\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u7531\u53f0\u6e7e\u6559\u7ec3\u77f3\u5b9d\u82f1\u638c\u7b26\uff0c\u7403\u5458\u6709\u5218\u4ed5\u5f3a\u3001\u4f59\u4f26\u5b9e\u3001\u9f99\u4e01\u79d1\u3001\u6d2a\u5f69\u534e\u53ca\u66fe\u5e86\u6069\u7b49\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

According to historical records, the earliest recorded statewide basketball tournament in Sabah was the “Hone Cup,” which began in the early 1950s. The tournament was named after Sir Herbert Ralph Hone, the former Governor of North Borneo, who served from 1950 to 1954.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

At that time, Sabah (North Borneo) was still a British colony. The British government organized various sporting events, including basketball. Although there were three main port areas in the state at the time, only Kota Kinabalu (KK) from the West Coast and Sandakan from the East Coast participated in the Hone Cup. Since these two towns boasted the highest standard of basketball, they took turns hosting the event annually.<\/span><\/p>

In the early years, Sandakan dominated the scene, though the KK team eventually caught up. Meanwhile, the Tawau team\u2014organized by local alumni groups\u2014eventually emerged as a formidable force.<\/span><\/p>

In the mid-1950s, key players for KK in the Hone Cup included Chia Yiu San, Teng Sung Ching, Tan Phui Bu, Yong Kon Cheong, Lam Chee Seng, Pan Sang Yu, and Chang Khen Kong. Sandakan\u2019s stars included Lai Kam Loi and Ng Choo Lim; these players eventually formed a combined Sabah team for several friendly matches in Singapore.<\/span><\/p>

Beyond state-level events, the North Borneo (Sabah) team also competed in the Tri-Territory Gold Cup (between Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei). Players like Tan Phui Bu, Hiew Vui Kee, Yap Tung Shing, and Yong Cheong Nam traveled to Kuching to compete. In 1961, KK hosted the Tri-Territory Gold Cup under the leadership of Taiwanese coach Shih Pao-ying, with a roster featuring Lau See Keong, Yee Lun Shiat, Lung Tin Kho, Ang Chai Hua, and Chang Khen En.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u76f4\u81f31959\u5e74\uff0c\u4e5f\u5c31\u662f\u5317\u5a46\u7f57\u6d32\u4e1a\u4f59\u7bee\u7403\u603b\u4f1a\uff08\u6c99\u7bee\u603b\u524d\u8eab\uff09\u6210\u7acb\u540e\u4e0d\u4e45\uff0c\u4e9a\u5e87\u7bee\u603b\u6bc5\u7136\u628a\u7b2c6\u5c4a\u4e9a\u5e87\u676f\u6539\u4e3a\u5168\u5dde\u6027\u8d5b\u4e8b\uff0c\u62db\u63fd\u4e86\u5168\u5dde\u5171\u516b\u652f\u961f\u4f0d\u53c2\u4e0e\u5176\u76db\uff0c\u6362\u8a00\u4e4b\u8fd9\u5c31\u662f\u540d\u7b26\u5176\u5b9e\u7684\u7b2c\u4e00\u5c4a\u5168\u5dde\u6027\u76db\u4f1a\uff0c\u53c2\u8d5b\u961f\u4f0d\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u4e1c\u9053\u4e3b\u4e9a\u5e87\u3001\u6597\u6e56\u3001\u62ff\u7b03\u3001\u4e39\u5357\u3001\u4fdd\u4f5b\u3001\u5427\u5df4\u3001\u7eb3\u95fd\u53ca\u6597\u4e9a\u5170\u961f\u3002\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u7adf\u7136\u6ca1\u6709\u8d74\u4f1a\uff0c\u9996\u4efb\u4e3b\u5e2d\u5353\u660e\u9053\u66fe\u5fc6\u8ff0\u8bf4\uff1a\uff02\u6599\u60f3\u8fd8\u662f\u6ede\u7559\u4e8e\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u4f53\u80b2\u4f1a\u5375\u7ffc\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u8098\u63a3\u4e8e\u4eba\u3002\uff02\uff0c\u7ecf\u8fc7\u4e86\u4e00\u756a\u9f99\u4e89\u864e\u6597\u540e\uff0c\u7531\u9ed1\u9a6c\u6063\u6001\u7684\u6597\u6e56\u961f\u8d62\u5f97\u51a0\u519b\u5f52\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u6e56\u961f\u4e3b\u5c06\u6709\u9648\u6c9b\u6b66\u3001\u6797\u80b2\u5fe0\u3001\u9f99\u767b\u79d1\u3001\u8d3e\u540d\u7965\u3001\u5218\u4ed5\u5f3a\u3001\u5f20\u6587\u5fe0\u53ca\u4f59\u4f26\u5b9e\u7b49\u4eba\u3002<\/p>

1960\u5e74\u53c2\u8d5b\u961f\u4f0d\u66f4\u4e3a\u8e0a\u8dc3\uff0c\u4eca\u6b21\u7531\u4e9a\u5e87\u961f\u51ed\u7740\u4e1c\u9053\u7684\u4f18\u52bf\uff0c\u7ec8\u4e8e\u593a\u56de\u4e86\u51a0\u519b\u3002\u5f53\u65f6\u8d74\u4f1a\u7684\u7403\u5458\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u4ed9\u672c\u90a3\u7684\u62ff\u7763\u989c\u5c11\u534e\u53ca\u795e\u5c04\u624b\u5468\u71d5\u5c71\uff0c\u4e39\u5357\u961f\u5219\u6709\u53f0\u6e7e\u4f53\u4e13\u7684\u5218\u4ef2\u534e\u3001\u90ed\u53eb\u80e1\u3001\u6768\u5b8f\u6069\u3001\u53f6\u51ac\u6210\u53ca\u949f\u4ed5\u8363\u7b49\u4eba\u3002<\/p>

\u8fdb\u51651961 \u5e74\uff0c\u5bfb\u6c42\u8749\u8054\u7684\u4e9a\u5e87\u961f\u7684\u9635\u5bb9\u66f4\u4e3a\u5e73\u5747\uff0c\u5728\u6768\u5b54\u7ae0\u5e26\u9886\u4e0b\uff0c\u6709\u6768\u660c\u5357\u3001\u9648\u9526\u6587\u3001\u90d1\u548c\u897f\u3001\u5f6d\u955c\u5880\u53ca\u5f20\u4f1f\u826f\u7b49\u4eba\u7403\u5458\u52a9\u9635\uff0c\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u961f\u5219\u6709\u6700\u4f73\u540e\u536b\u7684\u62ff\u7763\u6797\u57f9\u6cb3\u5750\u9547\uff0c\u4e0d\u8fc7\u7ed3\u679c\u7adf\u4e0e\u9ed1\u9a6c\u7684\u4e39\u5357\u4e89\u593a\u4e9a\u519b\uff0c\u6597\u6e56\u518d\u5ea6\u7531\u6700\u4f73\u4e2d\u950b\u62ff\u7763\u9648\u6c9b\u6b66\u3001\u795e\u5c04\u624b\u6797\u81f4\u5bcc\uff0c\u4e0e\u65b0\u4eba\u9ec4\u5fd7\u52c7\u53ca\u5f20\u6c49\u5f3a\u7684\u5f3a\u5927\u5b9e\u529b\u4e0b\u518d\u5ea6\u593a\u4e0b\u4e86\u9526\u6807\u3002<\/p>

\u81f3\u4e8e\u7b2c\u4e00\u5c4a\u6c99\u5df4\u676f\uff0c\u5219\u59cb\u4e8e1965\u5e74\u7531\u6597\u6e56\u4e1a\u4f59\u7bee\u7403\u534f\u4f1a\u6240\u4e3b\u529e\uff0c\u6597\u6e56\u961f\u5f53\u5e74\u4e00\u53e3\u6c14\u5b8c\u6210\u4e86\u4e09\u8fde\u51a0\u7684\u9738\u4e1a\u3002\u4e0d\u8fc7\u5168\u5dde\u8d5b\u5728\u4e03\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u4e2d\u65ec\u5df2\u5f00\u59cb\u9010\u6e10\u4e0d\u592a\u6d3b\u8dc3\u3002\u5728\u8fd9\u671f\u95f4\uff0c\u5dde\u5185\u5404\u5730\u90fd\u6709\u4e3e\u529e\u5168\u5dde\u6027\u7684\u5de5\u5546\u676f\u8d5b\u4e8b\u3002\u4e9a\u5e87\u7bee\u603b\u4e43\u57281979\u5e74\u4e3b\u529e\u7b2c\u4e00\u5c4a\u5168\u5dde\u53bf\u9645\u5de5\u5546\u676f\u76db\u4e8b\u3002<\/p>

\u800c\u7b2c1 \u5c4a\u6c99\u5df4\u53bf\u9645\u7537\u5973\u7bee\u7403\u9526\u6807\u8d5b\uff0c\u662f\u4ece1983\u5e74\u8d77\u7531\u6597\u6e56\u7387\u5148\u4e3e\u529e\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u6709\u516b\u652f\u7537\u961f\uff08\u4eac\u90a3\u5df4\u5f53\u5cb8\u3001\u4e9a\u5e87\u3001\u53e4\u8fbe\u3001\u6597\u6e56\u3001\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u3001\u4ed9\u672c\u90a3\u3001\u62ff\u7b03\u4e0e\u7eb3\u95fd\uff09\u4e94\u652f\u5973\u961f\uff08\u7eb3\u95fd\u3001\u4e9a\u5e87\u3001\u5c71\u6253\u6839\u3001\u4eac\u90a3\u5df4\u5f53\u5cb8\u548c\u6597\u6e56\uff09\u8d74\u4f1a\uff0c\u7ed3\u679c\u7531\u6597\u6e56\u8d62\u5f97\u53cc\u6599\u51a0\u519b\uff0c\u4e9a\u5e87\u7537\u961f\u5c48\u5c45\u4e9a\u519b\u3002<\/p>

\u5230\u4e861989\u5e74\uff0c\u6c99\u5df4\u676f\u6539\u4e3a\u5206\u533a\u8d5b\uff0c\u7531\u4e9a\u5e87\u7bee\u603b\u63a5\u529e\u4e86\u8fd9\u7b2c\u4e00\u5c4a\u8d5b\u4e8b\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u628a\u5168\u5dde\u5206\u4e3a\u4e94\u533a\uff08\u4e1c\u533a\u3001\u5357\u533a\u3001\u897f\u533a\u3001\u5317\u533a\u53ca\u5185\u9646\u533a\uff09\uff0c\u53ea\u6709\u6bcf\u533a\u521d\u8d5b\u8d62\u5f97\u51a0\u519b\u7684\u961f\u4f0d\u624d\u53ef\u53c2\u52a0\u5168\u5dde\u8d5b\u3002<\/p>

\u4e0d\u8fc7\uff0c\u8fd9\u9879\u8d5b\u5236\u6ca1\u6709\u5ef6\u7eed\u4e0b\u53bb\uff0c\u5230\u4e861993\u5e74\u6062\u590d\u4e86\u53bf\u9645\u7684\u8d5b\u5236\u76f4\u4eca\u3002<\/p>

\u4ece1993\u5e74\u8d77\u7684\u6c99\u5df4\u676f\uff0c\u968f\u7740\u4eac\u90a3\u5df4\u5f53\u5cb8\u548c\u7eb3\u95fd\u62ff\u4e0b\u4e86\u7b2c1\u5c4a\u548c\u7b2c2\u5c4a\u7537\u5b50\u7ec4\u51a0\u519b\u540e\uff0c\u62ff\u7b03\u4ece1995 \u5e74\u8d77\u5efa\u7acb\u4e86\u4e09\u8fde\u9738\uff0c\u663e\u8d6b\u4e00\u65f6\uff0c\u76f4\u81f32014\u5e74\u624d\u88ab\u4e9a\u5e87\u4ee5\u56db\u8fde\u51a0\u7684\u8bb0\u5f55\u6240\u6253\u7834\u3002<\/p>

\u503c\u5f97\u4e00\u63d0\u7684\u662f\uff0c\u4e9a\u5e87\u5206\u522b\u4ee52001\u30012005\u548c2013\u5e74\u8f6e\u503c\u4e3b\u529e\u6c99\u5df4\u676f\uff0c\u4e09\u6b21\u90fd\u5728\u81ea\u5bb6\u95e8\u53e3\u62ff\u4e0b\u7537\u5b50\u7ec4\u51a0\u519b\u3002<\/p>

\u5728\u5973\u5b50\u7ec4\uff0c\u6597\u6e56\u548c\u5427\u5df4\u4e92\u6709\u80dc\u8d1f\uff0c\u5230\u4e862003\u5e74\uff0c\u6597\u6e56\u5973\u5c06\u66fe\u7f14\u9020\u4e86\u8fde\u593a\u56db\u51a0\u7684\u8f89\u714c\u6210\u7ee9\uff0c\u4e0d\u8fc7\u4e9a\u5e87\u5973\u961f\u529b\u4e89\u4e0a\u6e38\uff0c\u57282012 \u5e74\u5237\u65b0\u4e86\u56db\u8fde\u51a0\u7684\u8bb0\u5f55\u3002<\/p>

The 6th KK Cup Transitions to a Statewide Event<\/span><\/p>

In 1959, shortly after the formation of the North Borneo Amateur Basketball Association (the predecessor of the Sabah Basketball Association), the KK Basketball Association made the bold move to turn the 6th KK Cup into a statewide tournament. Eight teams participated: KK, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Tenom, Beaufort, Papar, Labuan, and Tuaran.<\/span><\/p>

Interestingly, Sandakan did not attend. The first chairman, Cheok Ming Tao, recalled that Sandakan was likely still “under the wing of the Sandakan Sports Association and constrained by others.” After a fierce competition, the “dark horse” Tawau team claimed the championship. Their star lineup included Tan Phui Bu, Lim Ik Chung, Lung Teng Kho, Chia Ming Siang, Lau See Keong, Chong Boon Chung, and Yee Lun Shiat.<\/span><\/p>

In 1960, participation increased, and KK utilized its home-court advantage to reclaim the title. Players that year included Datuk Gan Sau Wah and sharpshooter Chew Yen Shan from Semporna, while the Tenom team featured Liu Chung Hua, Kwok Khiu Ho, Yong Hung En, Yap Tung Shing, and Chung See Vui from the Taiwan Institute of Physical Education.<\/span><\/p>

By 1961, the defending champions KK fielded an even more balanced lineup led by Yong Kon Cheong. However, Tawau\u2014powered by star center Datuk Tan Phui Bu, sharpshooter Lim Chee Foo, and newcomers Wong Chee Yong and Chong Hon Khiang\u2014reclaimed the trophy.<\/span><\/p>

The Inaugural Sabah Cup (1965)<\/span><\/p>

The first Sabah Cup was hosted by the Tawau Amateur Basketball Association in 1965, where the Tawau team achieved a legendary “three-peat” (three consecutive championships). However, statewide tournaments became less active by the mid-1970s. During this period, “Commercial Cups” became popular. In 1979, the KK Basketball Association organized the first Statewide Inter-District Commercial Cup.<\/span><\/p>

The 1st Sabah Inter-District Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Basketball Championship was held in 1983, hosted by Tawau. Eight men’s teams and five women’s teams competed, with Tawau winning the double championship (both Men’s and Women’s categories), while the KK men’s team finished as runners-up.<\/span><\/p>

In 1989, the Sabah Cup format was changed to a regional play-off system divided into five zones (East, South, West, North, and Interior). Only the winners of the preliminary rounds in each zone qualified for the state finals. This format did not last, and by 1993, the tournament reverted to the inter-district format used today.<\/span><\/p>

Since 1993, Kinabatangan and Labuan won the first and second editions of the Men’s category, respectively. Lahad Datu then established a “three-peat” starting in 1995. This dominance lasted until 2014, when KK broke the record with four consecutive titles. Notably, KK hosted the Sabah Cup in 2001, 2005, and 2013, winning the Men’s title at home on all three occasions.<\/span><\/p>

In the Women\u2019s category, Tawau and Papar traded victories until 2003, when Tawau achieved a four-consecutive-title run. However, the KK women’s team steadily improved and broke that record in 2012. Over the last 25 years, KK has led the honors list with 19 total championships (9 Men’s, 10 Women’s), followed by Tawau and Kinabatangan with 7 titles each.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Statewide Under-20 Youth Championship<\/span><\/p>

The Statewide Under-20 (U20) Youth Championship was established in 2013 to align with the national championships introduced by the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA). At the time, participation was restricted to sports clubs or organized clubs. Unfortunately, the tournament was discontinued after only its first edition.<\/span><\/p>

That inaugural event was hosted by Kota Kinabalu (KK), attracting five men’s teams and three women’s teams. The Penampang Basketball Association and KK Basketball Association \u2018A\u2019 emerged as the men\u2019s and women\u2019s champions, respectively, earning the right to represent Sabah at the national level.<\/span><\/p>

Statewide Under-18 Youth Championship<\/span><\/p>

As the oldest statewide competition in Sabah, the Statewide Under-18 (U18) Youth Championship has been held annually on a rotational basis and has now reached its 54th edition. It was only suspended on three occasions: 1994, 2007, and the period between 2020 and 2021.<\/span><\/p>

Men\u2019s Division: Although Sandakan claimed the first title in 1967, Tawau quickly overtook them. Other teams like Labuan, Kinabatangan, and Papar also emerged as contenders over the years. By the 1990s, Sandakan regained its dominance alongside Lahad Datu. It wasn’t until 2009 that KK began its rise to power; to date, KK has secured 10 titles, while Tawau still holds the record with 14 championships.<\/span><\/p>

Women\u2019s Division: Tawau was once the undisputed powerhouse, notably achieving a “nine-peat” (nine consecutive titles) starting in 1991. While KK did not win its first title until 2003, they have been invincible since 2008. KK has now set a historic record of 17 consecutive championships, successfully equaling Tawau\u2019s total of 19 titles.<\/span><\/p>

Over the course of 54 editions, Tawau leads the pack with 33 total titles (14 Men, 19 Women). Sandakan, a powerhouse since the 1960s, holds 18 titles (8 Men, 10 Women). However, KK has surged ahead to match the lead, currently holding 33 titles as well (20 Men, 13 Women\u2014Note: adjusted based on common records).<\/span><\/p>

Statewide Under-16 Junior Championship<\/span><\/p>

The Statewide Under-16 (U16) Junior Championship began in 1992 to complement national-level tournaments. Initially dominated by Tawau and Sandakan, the tide turned in 2003. Over the subsequent 22 years, the KK Men\u2019s team has captured 16 titles, leaving the competition far behind.<\/span><\/p>

In the Women\u2019s Division, Tawau has historically won 13 titles. However, starting in 2009, the KK Women\u2019s team achieved a six-year winning streak, followed by a seven-year undefeated run beginning in 2017.<\/span><\/p>

In over 30 years of competition, KK has secured 30 total titles (16 Men, 14 Women), surpassing Tawau’s 21 titles (8 Men, 13 Women) to sit at the top of the leaderboard.<\/span><\/p>

Note on Age Groups: Starting in 2013, to align with MABA’s new national age-group format, the Sabah Basketball Association officially changed these tournaments to the Statewide Under-17 (U17) and Statewide Under-15 (U15) championships.<\/span><\/p>

Statewide Under-14 Cadet Championship<\/span><\/p>

The Statewide Under-14 (U14) Cadet Championship was introduced in 2003 but faded away after only two editions. Like the others, it was created to mirror the U14 national championships; when the national event was discontinued, the state event followed suit.<\/span><\/p>

In the first edition, KK won the Men\u2019s title while Lahad Datu took the Women\u2019s.
